or do something
worth writing about.”

#1 – Give them what they want before you sell them what they need
Walk for a minute in the shoes of your ideal client. What does s.he really want? What problem does s.he face? What is their goal and which obstacles are in their way?
Once you’ve answered those questions, you’ll already have plenty of topics to address. Help them first put words on their “symptoms” and identify their problem.
Talk about all the different solutions that could help them. Make comparisons.
Then only try showing them how your solution would be better, and why they should choose you and not your competitors.
#2 – Client stories
What mistake your existing clients made? How did you help them resolve it? What false belief did they have? How did you prove them wrong? What problem couldn’t they overcome until you came into the picture?
The advantage of a client story versus a testimonial is that you are the one telling the story. You can focus more on the result, but don’t forget the process.
Start with the problem, their first “try and fail”, how they decided to trust you with that, how did you help them and what result did they get.
#3 – Personal stories
Getting where you are right now takes a lot of trials and errors. You’re probably not the same person that started with a business idea.
Sharing your own journey can help people relate and inspire them. Sometimes, a personal anecdote on a topic will enhance your credibility, because “You’ve been there before”.

#4 – Answer questions
Maybe you have recurring questions in your inbox or in the comments ? Why not make an article about that?
And if you don’t, you can find inspiration on Quora, where people ask questions about everything.
#5 – Ask for feedback
You just created a new campaign or launched a new offer? You changed your branding or started a newsletter? You tried something new?
Anything is a good opportunity to ask for feedback. People are eager to give their opinion. It will drive engagement, and it will help you refine your approach.
#6 – Prevent objections
You probably know the main reasons why someone may hesitate to buy from you : time and money are the more recurrent, but there are more.
And hopefully you already have arguments to oppose. Turn them each of them into one topic, and illustrate with proofs and results.
#7 – Clear confusion
Are there some areas of your business or expertise that are unclear for most people? Do they mix up principles or know-hows? Is there some vocabulary that they could misunderstand?
Clear that up.
Typical formats for this sort of content are “Is/Is Not” or “Do/Don’t” articles.

#8 – Quotes
Gather quotes on a specific topic and create a list of it. I don’t count how many times I have googled “marketing quotes“, “content inspiration quotes” or “storytelling quotes” to illustrate my articles.
I also have Pinterest boards full of quotes, so you can easily turn them into nice templates to share on Pinterest and drive consistent traffic to that article.
#9 – Resources
What are the tools you love to use ? Could they be of any help to your clients ?
Then tell them why you love them, explain how to use them. (You may even end up making some money if you use affiliate links from these platforms)
#10 – Educate about your offer
For sure, the main focus of your content should be on giving value rather than selling, but it doesn’t mean you can’t talk about your product or service. Help them understand how it works, how to use it, who needs it and benefits from it the most…
